8. The Atelier: Editing and Versioning Deliverables
Open any deliverable in the Atelier to preview, edit and save new versions while preserving the full version history of each file.
Every file produced by a mission — a document, spreadsheet, presentation or other deliverable — lands in your Studio workspace and is accessible from the mission's outputs panel. But the real editing power lives in the Atelier. When you open any deliverable in the Atelier, you get a full preview of the file and can edit it directly. Crucially, every time you save, a new version is created while the previous versions are preserved. The file keeps its identity across versions, so you always have a complete history: you can review what changed, compare iterations, or roll back if needed. This means you never lose earlier work, whether the original was produced by @oupi or refined by you.
The path from mission to Atelier is straightforward. Once a mission completes, its deliverables appear in the outputs panel of the mission workspace. From there you can preview, pin or download any file. Every file also lands in your files, and opening it takes you into the Atelier. For durable tasks, deliverables accumulate in the task's folder across runs, so each new execution adds to the history rather than overwriting it. This is especially useful for recurring deliverables like weekly reports: you can open any past version in the Atelier and compare it with the latest.
Versioning in the Atelier is automatic and non-destructive. Each save creates a distinct version — you do not need to duplicate files or rename them manually. The file retains a single identity while its version history grows. This design supports a natural review workflow: @oupi delivers version 1, you open it in the Atelier, make corrections or additions, and save version 2. If you later ask @oupi to refine the deliverable via a follow-up mission, the new output becomes the next version in the same lineage. You can always trace how a deliverable evolved from the original delivery through every human and agent edit.
Before editing in the Atelier, check the verification verdict on the mission page. A "verified" result means @oupi confirmed the deliverable matches the goal. "Could not be verified" is not a failure — it just means you should review it yourself. Starting your edit from a verified deliverable saves time.
Need to refine a deliverable without opening the Atelier? Reply directly from the mission page — @oupi starts a follow-up mission that inherits the full context of the original. Say something like "shorten it to one page" or "add Q2 figures." The updated file will appear as a new version you can then fine-tune in the Atelier.
Go to Studio, open a completed mission, and click a deliverable to open it in the Atelier. Make a small edit (fix a heading or add a sentence), then save. Confirm that a new version appears in the version history and that the original version is still accessible.
The Atelier is where every Studio deliverable becomes a living document. Open any file to preview and edit it; each save creates a new version while preserving the full history. Files keep their identity across versions — no duplicates, no overwrites. You can also trigger new versions by asking @oupi for a follow-up from the mission page. Always check the verification verdict before you start editing, and use durable task folders to track deliverables across recurring runs.
