1. Understanding My Connections
Discover what Limbs (My connections) are, how they let @oupi reach your browser, desktop, Office apps, messaging tools and devices, and how credits are shared across every surface.
What are My Connections (Limbs)?
Limbs — called "My connections" in your dashboard — are the bridges that extend @oupi beyond the OUPI platform into the tools you already use every day. Each connection is a surface where @oupi can work: a Chrome extension in your browser, the OUPI Desktop app on your computer, an add-in inside Word, Excel and PowerPoint, a bot in Teams or Slack, or a physical OUPI device like the Orbe or Nexus One.
Every connection is paired to your personal OUPI account, appears in the My connections panel with its live status and last activity timestamp, and can be disconnected or permanently revoked at any time. Crucially, credits are always deducted from your single OUPI account regardless of which surface you use — there is no separate balance per connection.
Pairing a connection — one code, five minutes
All connections follow the same pairing flow:
- Install or open the surface (extension, desktop app, add-in, or bot).
- Go to My connections and generate a pairing code.
- Paste the code where the surface asks for it.
Codes are single-use and expire after five minutes for security. Once paired, the connection immediately appears as "connected" in your dashboard with its last-seen activity. If you ever lose trust in a connection — say you sold a laptop — you can revoke it instantly from the same panel.
What each surface brings you
• Chrome extension — Opens a side panel next to any web page. @oupi sees the page, answers questions about it, and can act in the browser (fill forms, navigate, extract data) when you allow it. It also enables missions that need a logged-in browser. • OUPI Desktop — Gives @oupi access to your screen, mouse, keyboard, apps and shell, but only when you explicitly arm the control from the menu bar. Disarm it anytime. • Office add-in — Works inside Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Microsoft 365). Rewrite text, build tables, generate slides, or check formulas — all using your OUPI context. • Teams & Slack — Mention @oupi in a channel or chat; it replies there and can launch missions. Your identity is matched to your OUPI account, so your knowledge bases and memory apply.
Multi-connection awareness
@oupi doesn't treat each connection as an island. It knows which of your connections are online and on which machine. This means a single mission can combine surfaces — for example, using the Desktop app to open a local file and the Chrome extension to look something up on a website, all on the same computer. If a mission needs a connection that isn't currently active, @oupi will tell you which one is missing so you can bring it online.
Pin the OUPI icon to your Chrome toolbar so the side panel is always one click away. And remember: the Desktop agent does nothing on your machine while it is disarmed — arm it only when you need it, disarm it when you're done.
Open My connections in your dashboard. Review the list of surfaces: check which ones are already paired, note their status and last activity. If you haven't paired the Chrome extension or Desktop app yet, generate a pairing code and complete the setup — the code expires in five minutes, so have the surface ready first.
My connections (Limbs) let @oupi meet you wherever you work — browser, desktop, Office, messaging tools, or OUPI devices. Every surface pairs with a single-use, five-minute code and appears in one dashboard where you monitor status, disconnect, or revoke access. Credits come from your one OUPI account no matter which surface you use. Connections are aware of each other, so missions can combine them. Security is built in: desktop control is opt-in, browser actions follow your org's rules, and any connection can be revoked instantly.
