OupiBox: The Sandbox Behind the AI · Lesson 2 of 7

2. When Does OupiBox Activate?

Identify the types of tasks that trigger OupiBox automatically and learn how to force it on from the chat toolbar.

OupiBox is an isolated, disposable workspace that activates behind the scenes whenever the AI needs to do something rather than just say something. Think of it as a workshop: instead of describing what a chart would look like, the AI actually builds it.

Automatic activation happens when your request requires real execution — cleaning a spreadsheet, converting PDFs to text, running calculations, generating a formatted Word report, or extracting data from an archive. The platform detects that prose alone won't satisfy the task and spins up OupiBox on its own. You don't need to configure anything.

A good rule of thumb: if the task involves files, numbers, or a deliverable document, OupiBox will kick in automatically.

Here are the most common task types that trigger OupiBox automatically:

File transformations — "Convert these ten PDFs to text," "Merge these CSVs." • Calculations & data work — "Check my numbers," "Clean this spreadsheet and chart it." • Document generation — "Build a formatted Word report," "Create a styled slide deck." • Format conversions — Turning one file type into another, zipping outputs into an archive. • Data extraction — Pulling structured information out of uploaded files.

In every case, the AI runs real code inside the sandbox, processes your files, and hands back finished outputs — not descriptions of what the output would contain.

Sometimes you want OupiBox active from the start of a conversation, even before you've typed a task that would normally trigger it. For this, the chat toolbar includes an explicit toggle.

Open any Pro chat and look at the toolbar above the message input. You'll find an option to force OupiBox on for that conversation. Once enabled, every message in the thread can leverage the sandbox — useful when you know you'll be iterating on files or calculations throughout the session.

This manual switch is especially handy when your first message is ambiguous (the AI might default to prose), or when you plan a multi-step workflow and want execution available from the very first prompt.

Tip

Ask for the file, not the description of the file. Instead of "Explain how I'd structure a budget spreadsheet," say "Build me a budget spreadsheet with these categories." The more concrete your request, the more likely OupiBox activates automatically — and the better the deliverable.

Tip

While OupiBox works, the conversation shows live progress — what's being installed, processed, or rendered. If something gets stuck, just tell the AI: it can see its own errors, retry automatically, or change approach entirely when you ask.

Try it now

Open a Pro chat, force OupiBox on from the toolbar, then type: "Create a one-page Word document summarizing three benefits of sandboxed AI execution, with a title and bullet points." Watch the live progress, then download the resulting file from the conversation cards.

Recap

OupiBox activates automatically whenever your task requires execution — file processing, calculations, document building, conversions, or data extraction. You can also force it on manually from the chat toolbar for any conversation. The key mindset shift: ask for deliverables, not descriptions. The AI runs real code in an isolated sandbox, hands back finished files to your file space, and discards the sandbox. Your files are always the source of truth.
