5. The Office Add-in: @oupi in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Install and pair the Office add-in in Microsoft 365 so @oupi can rewrite sections, build tables, generate slides, and check formulas directly inside your documents.
The Office add-in is one of @oupi's connections — called "My connections" — that lets you work with @oupi directly inside Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Whether you use Microsoft 365 on the desktop or in a web browser, the add-in brings @oupi's capabilities right into the document you're editing. You can rewrite a section of text, build a table from raw data, generate slides from an outline, or check a formula — all without leaving your Office app. Every action uses your OUPI account context (your knowledge bases, memory, and permissions) and credits are deducted from that same account, just like any other surface.
To get started, install the Office add-in from within Microsoft 365. Once the add-in is loaded, it will ask you for a pairing code. Head to "My connections" in your OUPI dashboard, generate a code, and paste it into the add-in. Pairing codes are single-use and expire after five minutes, so use them promptly. After pairing, the add-in appears in your connections list with its status and last activity timestamp. You only need to pair once — the connection persists until you disconnect or revoke it.
If your pairing code expires before you paste it, don't worry — just generate a new one from "My connections." Each code is single-use and valid for five minutes, so have your Office app open and ready before you click Generate.
Once paired, @oupi works contextually inside each Office app. In Word, select a paragraph and ask @oupi to rewrite, summarize, or expand it. In Excel, highlight a formula and ask @oupi to check or explain it, or provide data and let it build a structured table. In PowerPoint, give @oupi an outline and it generates slides for you. Because the add-in is a full connection, it can also collaborate with your other active surfaces — for example, a mission could pull data from a local file via OUPI Desktop and then format it in your open spreadsheet.
Security works the same way as every other connection. The Office add-in runs under your OUPI account with its permissions. You can see its status at any time in "My connections," and you can disconnect or revoke it whenever you want. If you stop using the add-in on a particular machine, revoking the connection ensures no residual access remains. Everything is scoped to your account — no one else can use your paired add-in.
Open your OUPI dashboard and go to "My connections." Generate a pairing code, then open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint in Microsoft 365 and install the Office add-in. Paste the code to complete pairing. Verify the add-in now appears as connected in your connections list.
The Office add-in brings @oupi into Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Microsoft 365. Install it, pair it with a single-use five-minute code from "My connections," and you're set. From there, rewrite text, build tables, generate slides, and check formulas — all using your OUPI context and credits. The connection is visible, revocable, and works alongside your other surfaces for cross-connection tasks.
