SkillHub Mastery: Capture and Reuse What Works · Lección 6 de 6

6. Editing, Deleting, and Sharing Skills

Refine existing skills, remove outdated ones, and understand how admin-published shared skills appear alongside your personal library.

Your SkillHub is a living library — skills aren't set in stone once created. You can edit any personal skill to refine its name, its "when to use" description, or its step-by-step procedure. When you save an edit, active conversations will pick up the updated version the next time the AI references that skill. This means you can continuously improve a skill based on real results without losing continuity. If a skill is outdated or no longer needed, you can delete it entirely — this removes it from every tool that could reference it (ChatPro, OUPI Studio, etc.).

Consejo

Not sure a skill is ready to retire? Instead of deleting it, deactivate it first. Deactivated skills stay in your library but are no longer offered to the AI. This is ideal for seasonal procedures or skills you're still drafting — you keep the content without cluttering the AI's context.

Alongside your personal skills, you may notice skills you didn't create. These are shared skills — published by your organization's administrators and visible to everyone on the platform. They appear in the same library view and work the same way: the AI reads them and applies the relevant one when active. Your personal skills remain private to your account; shared skills are read-only additions that ensure consistent practices across your team.

When the AI assembles its context for a task, it looks at all your active skills (personal and shared) and selects the relevant one. If you have a skill that should always take priority — for example, a company-wide report structure — pin it. A pinned skill is prioritized during context assembly, so it's more likely to be applied even when multiple skills could be relevant. Use pinning sparingly: reserve it for the procedures that must always govern your work.

Consejo

When editing a skill, keep the golden rule: one job per skill, a clear name stating when to use it, numbered operational steps, and the expected output. If your edit makes the skill cover two different jobs, split it into two separate skills instead. Vague edits weaken results.

Open your SkillHub now. Pick one existing skill and edit it: tighten the name so it clearly states when the skill applies, number the steps if they aren't already, and add an expected-output line at the end. Save, then verify the skill is still active so the AI picks up your changes on next use.

Para recordar

You can edit any personal skill at any time — changes take effect on the next AI use. Delete skills you no longer need, or deactivate them to keep the content without exposing it to the AI. Shared skills published by admins appear alongside your personal library and follow the same activation rules. Use pinning to prioritize must-have procedures, and always keep each skill focused on one job with clear, numbered steps.
