Creative Suite Essentials: From First Design to Published Content · Lesson 7 of 7

7. Going Further: Missions and Costs

Learn how to ask @oupi to produce designs through missions and understand the credit system for AI generations.

In OUPI, a mission is a task you delegate to @oupi — your AI assistant. Instead of building a design manually, you can describe what you need (a poster, a slide deck, a set of social media visuals) directly in a mission. @oupi then uses Creative Suite behind the scenes to produce the files and delivers them to you. The finished designs appear in your file space, ready to open in the editor for any final tweaks. This means you can go from a simple text request to a polished visual without touching the canvas yourself.

To get the best results from a mission, be specific about the deliverable. Include the type of piece (poster, carousel, briefing deck), the topic, the audience, and any constraints (number of slides, key message, tone). For example: "Create a three-slide LinkedIn carousel announcing our summer sale, using our brand colors." @oupi will generate a complete layout matching your description, and your brand kit (logos, colors, fonts) is applied automatically so everything stays on brand.

Editing in Creative Suite is free — you can drag, drop, resize, and rearrange elements at no cost. However, every AI generation consumes credits. This includes generating full layouts from a description, creating AI images on the canvas, and producing content from notebooks. Before each generation, OUPI shows you the credit cost so there are no surprises. Think of credits as the currency for AI-powered work: manual editing stays unlimited, while AI assistance is metered and transparent.

Tip

Before launching a mission, check the credit cost displayed in the confirmation step. If you only need small adjustments to an existing design, open it in the editor and edit manually — that's always free. Save your credits for high-value AI generations like full layouts or image creation.

Designs produced by missions aren't locked away — they're regular files. You'll find them in your gallery alongside everything else you've created. You can organize them into folders, mark them as favorites, duplicate or rename them, and even reuse them in the chat or in another mission. If a mission-generated design needs refinement, just open it in the visual editor and adjust text, images, or layout by hand.

Try it now

Go to Creative Suite and start a mission with @oupi: ask for a simple poster (e.g., "Design a one-page poster for a team meeting next Friday"). Watch the credit cost shown before confirming, then review the delivered design in your gallery and open it in the editor to make a small change.

Recap

Missions let you delegate design work to @oupi by describing what you need — posters, decks, social visuals — and receiving ready-made files. Editing those files in the canvas is always free, but AI generations (layouts, images, notebook outputs) cost credits, with the amount shown before you confirm. Every mission output lives in your gallery as a normal file you can organize, refine, share, or reuse.
