1. One Currency for Everything
Understand why OUPI uses a single credit system instead of separate prices per tool or provider.
Imagine you want to chat with an AI, generate an image, run an automated agent mission, and analyze a document — all in one platform. Without a unified system, you'd need a separate subscription or payment method for every provider behind each tool. OUPI solves this with credits: a single currency that pays for every model and every tool on the platform. Whether you're sending a chat message, generating a video, or launching a multi-step agent mission, it all draws from the same credit balance. This means you never juggle multiple bills or wonder which provider charges what. Your balance and the cost of each action are always visible, so there are no surprises.
Not every action costs the same number of credits — and that's by design. The price of an action reflects the real resources it consumes:
• Text conversations: Cost depends on the number of tokens (roughly, words) exchanged, multiplied by the model's weight. Frontier (top-tier) models cost far more per token than fast, lightweight ones. • Media generation: Images, video, and audio are priced per generation, depending on the engine and the output's size or duration. • Agent missions: These add up the model calls and tool uses across all work rounds. • Sandbox work (documents, code, data): Billed by compute time.
Costs are shown before actions when possible, and always displayed afterwards — so you can learn what's expensive and adjust.
Your credits come from your plan. Each plan gives you a monthly allowance of credits that renews on your billing date, along with access to specific models and tools. If you don't use all your credits in a cycle, they generally don't carry over unless your plan explicitly says so. Need more? Upgrades apply immediately, so you're never stuck waiting.
For teams, a shared allowance is distributed by the administrator, who can see consumption per member and set caps. Individual members can also keep a personal plan balance alongside their team allocation.
A common worry: "What if I run out of credits mid-task?" OUPI handles this gracefully. Agent missions check your balance before each work round and stop cleanly if funds are insufficient — keeping everything produced so far. Chat messages that can't be paid for are simply refused before they start. And crucially, you are never charged for an operation that fails. Credits are debited only on success. This means you can experiment without fear of losing credits to errors or glitches.
Want to keep costs low? Let OUPI's automatic model selection do its job — it picks lighter models for routine work. Write clear, specific briefs for missions (fewer rounds = fewer credits). Store long reference documents in a knowledge base instead of pasting them into chat. And use temporary chats for throwaway questions.
