7. Sending SMS and Managing Contacts
Send text messages to contacts via the SMS module and maintain a shared contact directory used across all hub channels.
The SMS module in the Communication Hub lets you send text messages directly to your contacts without leaving the platform. Every conversation is stored with full history, so you can scroll back through past exchanges at any time. SMS availability depends on the phone numbers configured for your account — if you don't yet have a number set up, you'll need to configure one before you can start sending. Costs are transparent: SMS is billed per message, and the platform shows you the cost before you send, so there are no surprises.
Contacts in the Communication Hub are shared across every channel — email, voice, and SMS. This means a contact you add or update in one area is immediately available everywhere else. When you open the SMS composer, you can search your shared directory to find the right recipient quickly. Keeping your contact directory clean and up to date is essential: accurate phone numbers ensure your SMS messages reach the right people, and consistent naming helps you find contacts fast across all hub channels.
Before sending your first SMS, check that your account has a phone number configured. Without one, the SMS module won't be available. You can verify this in your Communication Hub settings, where costs per message are also displayed.
When composing an SMS, you can also leverage the AI panel — the assistant on the right side of the hub. Give it an instruction like "draft a follow-up text" or "shorten this message," and it will generate content in the context of your current SMS conversation. You always review and edit before sending, keeping full control over what goes out. This is especially useful when you need to send quick, professional messages without spending time on wording.
Use the shared contact directory to keep phone numbers, email addresses, and names consistent. A contact updated in the SMS section is instantly available in the email composer and the voice dialer — no duplicate entry needed.
Open the SMS module at Communication Hub > SMS. Search for an existing contact in your directory, select them, and compose a short text message. Before hitting send, note the cost displayed. If no number is configured yet, explore the interface and review your message history.
You now know how to send SMS from the Communication Hub: select a contact from the shared directory, compose your message (with optional AI assistance from the panel), review the per-message cost, and send. Your contacts are unified across email, voice, and SMS, so keeping them accurate benefits every channel. Remember that SMS availability depends on having a configured phone number, and costs are always shown before you act.
