2. Understanding Credits and Your Subscription
Understand what credits are, how they are consumed, where to check your balance and plan details, and that you are only charged for successful operations.
Credits are OUPI's universal currency for AI usage. Every chat message, text generation, agent mission, and tool action consumes credits based on the models and services involved. Importantly, the cost of an operation is shown before you confirm it, and credits are only debited when the operation succeeds — a failed generation costs you nothing.
Not all actions consume equally. The heaviest consumers are long conversations with frontier models, agent missions with many work rounds, document generation in the sandbox, and media tasks (images, video, audio). A short, well-briefed mission or a balanced model for everyday work keeps consumption low. Each mission and each media job also shows its exact cost afterwards, so you can always review what was spent.
Your credit balance is always visible in the top bar of the platform, giving you a quick glance at where you stand. For full details, head to the Subscription page. There you'll find:
• Your current plan and its monthly credit allowance • Your renewal date (when your allowance resets) • Your payment method on file • Your invoices, issued at each payment
This single page is your billing command center — plan details, payment management, and invoice history all in one place.
If you manage a team, your team plan provides a shared credit allowance that you, as administrator, distribute to members. Each member can receive a monthly credit grant drawn from the team plan, and their AI usage consumes from that allowance.
As admin, you have visibility into per-member consumption — who uses what and which tools — so you can spot heavy usage patterns and adjust allowances accordingly. A member's balance can combine both a personal allowance and a team allowance.
When you need more credits, you have several options:
• Upgrade your plan from the Subscription page — upgrades apply immediately with the new allowance following your plan cycle. • Wait for your monthly renewal, which automatically resets your allowance. • If you're a team member, ask your team administrator about receiving a team allowance.
Downgrades work differently: they take effect at your next renewal date, not immediately. For payment, OUPI accepts card payments through its payment providers, and other methods like PayPal or crypto when enabled by the administrator.
Keep costs down by writing clear, specific goals for agent missions — a well-defined brief means fewer work rounds and fewer credits consumed. As the platform itself notes: "A clear goal is the cheapest optimization."
Open OUPI now and check your credit balance in the top bar. Then navigate to the Subscription page to review your current plan, monthly allowance, renewal date, and payment method. If you manage a team, look at the per-member consumption breakdown to see how credits are being used across your team.
Credits are consumed per AI operation, with costs shown upfront and charged only on success. Your balance lives in the top bar; the Subscription page holds your plan details, allowance, renewal date, invoices, and payment method. Heavy consumers include frontier-model conversations, multi-round missions, and media generation. Team admins distribute shared allowances and monitor per-member usage. When credits run low, upgrade immediately or wait for renewal.
